For those not in the know,
The Five Nations Championship was the forerunner of the Six Nations (Wales, Ireland, Scotland, England, France, & Italy) rugby tournament (the foremost annual rugby championship in Europe). This year the championship has just been won by France. But in 1930 it was....
- won by England
- Wales won against France!!!!!
- the score was Wales 11, France 0 at Stades Colombes
- unfortunately I have no idea what the receipts for the match were
Interestingly, after the 1930 season the French were expelled from the tournament until 1939 - it was alleged that there was "professionalism" involved, as well as inadequacies in the French team's admin, and a degree of on-field violence.
Okay so what do I win!!!??? ;^)
Out of curiosity, does anyone have better pics of a 1930 Peugeot?
