Subject: [CR]San Diego Vintage Ride BBQ Party May 21st

Future San Diego Vintage Rides will be on a “as we call’em basis”, u ntil further notice. Brian Baylis and I have decided to call the San Diego Vintage ride on an irregular basis. We are both swamped with work and it is particularly tough for me during Tax season. The next San Diego Vintage Ride and BBQ Party will be held on Sunday May 21st. We’ll ride from m y house at 938 20th in Golden Hill to the Point Loma Light House and back.

This ride is 25 miles in length, fairly easy with a moderate uphill from Ocean Beach to the Light House. Along the way we will ride through Balb oa Park, Mission Hills, Presidio Park, Old Town, along the San Diego River, Ocean Beach, San Diego Bay/Harbor and finally through the Gaslamp Quarter and back to Golden Hill. I’ll be riding a Fixed Gear bike and encourag e others to do the same. This ride will also work for Tandems if you would

like to ride one. Please bring your Wives and Girlfriends. This Ride BBQ Party is a lot of fun. Last year most everyone raved about what a good t ime they had. Those who did not attend were sorry they missed it. My wife and I considered doing this ride twice a year, but it is more work than one woul d realize to organize this event. Get the House ready, buying and preparin g all the food and drinks etc. I realize now what others go through to put on a ride party for the group and they deserve our utmost thanks and appreciation for the time effort and money spent. Last year I spent betw een $300 and $400 to host this ride. The only thing I’m asking this year i s that every one bring along a six-pack of your favorite Beer, soft drink, water, or bottle of Wine. Start time 9:30am for a light breakfast of Donuts, fruit and Coffee. Then head out for the ride at 11:00am. Best parking on Sunday morning will be found on the Broadway Street Bridge over

interstate 5 at 19th street. The ride will take about 2 hours, so we’ ll be back for BBQ lunch, Party around 1-1:30pm. I’ll have a TV on the deck so we can watch DVDs of previous Tour De France races and you can bet with Charles Andrews to see if Pantani comes back to win the stage. Party wil l last until Joe Bell decides it’s time to go home. Please RSVP with me,

Sterling Peters at sterling@tns.net (Off List), so that I know how much Food and Tequila to buy.
