Subject: [CR]Brooks saddle dating - myth or fact?

Sages have said that one can date a Brooks saddle by looking for a date stamp on the underside of the cantle plate. Myth or fact? Valid or theory? Forgive me if this has already been established. If fact, I've seen far more than a porportionate share of 1967 saddles such as Duncan Granger is selling on ebay. Stamped "B 67". I have or have had multiple Brooks Pro's with that same stamp. Currently have one that came of a circa 1963 Legnano that the owner said was original (may or may not be true). Then there is the one on a '68 Bianchi (lends credence to the date). Plus at least one more in my pile that came from who knows where. Some saddles have no stamp including one from a 1971 Mondia and another from a 1974 Paramount. Also have an A73, B76 and B82 (B-17).
