Subject: [CR]Waiting times for KOF frames and bikes

Several folks have expressed reservations about the long waiting times for KOF builders, and I have given much consideration to this also. For me at 63 to enter into a 5 year wait for a bike is nuts. For a younger person, perhaps not. It has been asked what to do about this. Well, ask around the various frame builders and see, is all I can say. Wait times vary from several lifetimes from Richard Moon to 4 or 5 years or so from Brian Baylis to 3 years or so with Richard Sachs to a year or so from Doug Fattic to as little as 6 weeks from Dave Kirk (at least during the off season). A bike by any of these folks (or a couple of dozen more builders) would do any of you proud. All build jaw droppers. Prices run from $1800 to over $10,000...again, you gotta ask. Most have 800 numbers. If it really is important to you, just call them up and ask...with one or two often noted exceptions most seem glad to talk with folks who call. None of those exceptions is among the above mentioned builders, by the way.
