The article struck a chord with me and not totally positive. I was a wholesale rep from 1973-1980 and I was pretty well schooled as I had grown up in the business. During my Rep days I did many turn key shops and remember pretty clearly most were in the $50,000 range. Sadly during the same period there were many shops that started and ended on a shoe string. I recall there was a company that would help you "start" a shop including finding a location plus maybe $1000 in inventory for that $5000 investment (you know the rest of the story)
I wonder how the author did in the end?
