Subject: [CR]Campy crank > BB compatibility

Are all grooved Campy NR/SR cranksets compatible with one length of BB spindle, or was there a significant change in the spider at some point, requiring a different length spindle?

I ask because I recently had a 175mm NR/SR grooved crankset installed on my trusty BB (replacing my 172.5mm set) and now note a slight chainline discrepancy, when there was none before.

Is this one of those post-1978 things?

Also, on the newly installed crank, the chainring bolts protude slightly out the back of the small chainring, while on the earlier set there was no protrusion --the rear of the bolts sat pretty much flush with the small chainring. Do I have the wrong bolts in there?
