I had to cancel the ride that I had originally planned for April 15th, and reschedule it for this coming Saturday. Looking at the weather forecast, it looks to be great weather for a ride, so I would like to repeat the invitation for everybody from the surrounding area to come out.
I have set the meeting time at 10 AM to give the people coming from a bit further away plenty of time to arrive. Starting point will be at my home in Moorestown, NJ. Please do let me know if you are planning on coming, so that I can arrange for some post-ride refreshments. If anybody is interested, there will be plenty of time after the ride to ogle / show off / discuss vintage bikes as well as the option of swapping. The ride will be between 20-30 miles depending on the general fitness of the group that turns out.
If you are driving, we live just a few minutes away from exits 36 and 40 of I-295 or exit 4 of the New Jersey turnpike. I can provide simple directions on how to reach my home from any of these highway exits. You can also take a bike-friendly NJ Transit bus from downtown Philly to within 300 meters of my home. If anybody is planning to come up from the DC area, I have a friend that would appreciate being able to carpool. The riding around here is flat, pastoral and relatively quiet traffic-wise. It is very fixed gear friendly.
As mentioned previously, anybody wanting to try out any of the bikes that I have is welcome to do so, including the ones that are being offered on ebay right now (see my separate posting where I out the auctions). The bikes can be borrowed for the ride on a first come first serve basis. I have, among others, a few Masi's, De Rosa's and Colnago's that can be borrowed. Perhaps the perfect opportunity for some of you to finally get a chance to try out these bikes.
Please RSVP if you intend to come.
