Dale and all,
Some of us here in San Diego have been thinking about making a road trip up to Barons Place. We were thinking it would be really fun to take the train from San Diego to Santa Barbara, hopefully picking up some passan gers on the way through Orange County and Los Angeles.
Anyone up for a mass train ride to the Grand Opening event? I'd be all o ver that. Many of us love to ride the train now and again; we should all get together and take a ride. You can take a bike on the train with you , I'm pretty sure. Let's do it!!
Interested parties please drop me a note and we'll see if we can form up a possee to attend the bash.

Baron & Cecile are having trouble joining the CR list (!?) so Cecile
sent me a nice note (below)
While I will not get out there for their opening celebration, I am
soliciting one of you CR folk to do a photo report.. Pics of exterior,
people at the opening, cool parts, etc. Can someone volunteer for this
fun assignment?
<< We also wanted to let you know that we are finally opening our
retail vintage store May 14 (Mother's Day) in Santa Barbara, CA. If we
aren't able to hook up with the CR list soon, maybe you or I can ask
somebody else to let the CR members know.
We will have a ribbon cutting by a council member at 1.00 pm and serve
coffee. The coffee theme is staying with us as we are calling it --
Cafe de Velo--. As Baron said it will be a great place (he loves to
talk right?) where we will have complimentary coffee and other drinks
etc for sale for cyclists to enjoy. There will be lots of bistro
tables, chairs and umbrellas in- and outdoors to hang out at and enjoy
the beautiful climate in Santa Barbara while talking all cycling. Since
we are still busy with our online sales and incoming containers, we
will only be open: Wednesday 12 -5, Friday 10 - 6, Sat 10 - 6, Sunday
11 - 5.
We're still working on the place and are looking for some help!
Someone who loves and knows all vintage! Maybe you can spread the word
around as well as the CR list seems to be a good place to let people
know. Now all we have to do is for you to come visit us and us to join
the Cirque du Cyclisme so we can finally meet! Renaissance The address is :
Cafe de Velo 615 E. Gutierrez Santa Barbara, CA 93103
tel: (805) 966 6510
Many people have been asking over the years when this will be
happening and I'm happy to let them know we will finally be more
accessible.
Best regards, Cecile >>
