Thank you, Joe and Mike. As always, Hadland hits the target dead-on. Just one note: being a fairly simple fellow, I just attached a standard 4-speed trigger, adjusted it per instructions, and started riding w/o any modifications. About 25 years ago. The only drawback is that I did not remove the notch between middle and high, so it wants to hang there - and try to coast. You may not want to try this at home.

In fact, I've only seen one Genuine ASC trigger "in the flesh," and I like Dan Artley far too much to steal it instead of admiring it. :-)

There are instructions on the web for converting a four speed trigger for ASC use. I followed them and it works fine. As the instructions say, somehow the hubs are more available than the triggers.
