I only own the newer ones and don't know production dates of older models. But maybe this will help. When first re-introduced the swallow was rolled and stitched on Ti rails. This was a limited production run of about 1000. Now that it's back in the regular product line, it's no longer rolled and stitched and just cut for the profile. Ti rails with bag loops. Small chrome over brass (??) rivets. Slightly less pricey but still up there. Most comfortable saddle I've ridden. Although my second one was hard and is just now (250+ miles) breaking in.
Can you post a picture? Especially the two styles of rivets?

I'm purchasing a Brooks swallow saddle that the owner dates to the '80's. This saddle is black, with dime-size copper rivets, except for rivets on either side of the waist area which are smaller (size of a sixteen penny nail head) that secures a metal stretcher . no stitching around the apron. Can someone confirm that there is such a swallow saddle or that it's a modified lookalike.
Thanks
