A good point. It would seem the rules don't apply equally to the wearer of the rainbow jersey. Or perhaps they apply more strictly to members of a non-French team which has annoyed the French press by winning the TdF seven years running. You'd think the ASO might be a bit more magnanimous considering:
A) Discovery has almost no chance of winning the TdF this year.
B) Discovery had once again, despite coming close, been frustrated in their attempt to actually win Paris-Roubaix.
But perhaps a magnanimous ASO is an oxymoron.
And biased officiating in cycling is about as classic as you can get.

Boonen rode around the barriers as well, albeit AFTER the train passed. They had not yet been raised, so as far as I'm concerned, he (and his chase companions) should have been DQ'ed as well.
