The earliest Campy aero levers were the Cobalto ( C Record ) levers. These had the same pattern as the 50th anniversary levers but came with guide plates that inserted into the lever to allow either aero or non aero routing. The hoods had a hole in the top for the cables but came with a plug for use with aero routing. The hoods were unique for these levers. When Deltas became available a push button qhick release was added to the levers necessatating a slight cut away in the hood. The Cobaltos became available around 1986. This was a popular lever set for folks who wanted aero levers but also wanted to keep a full Campy set up so it was often seen with SR/NR calipers.
