Or are we seeing a blatant attempt to find out exactly what the market will bear, with no real attempt to sell?
I saw this happen about four years ago on eBay, a collection of Ducati motorcycles, including a couple of Indianas, which I really wanted to own (I can already hear the groans from those who know of the bike).
Nothing made reserve - because the "seller" had reserves of something like $50k on each item. He just wanted to see what the market would bear.

Dear CR listees, I've been following e-Richie's (Richard Sachs) auction of his 1971 Masi on ebay. It has been a really amazing auction in my opinion........ It just ended and DID NOT MAKE RESERVE at $6,191.99.

Are we seeing escalating vintage bicycle prices or is this just a BLIP in the marketplace, we call ebay? Yours truly, Marty Walsh in Vienna,Va. with my first e-bay auction "going on"......
