I have found the recent posts on Han Ohrt most interesting as I have a photo of Hans and his wife outside the Elswick-Hopper offices in Barton-on-Humber, alongside Arthur Stow, the then MD and Harold Crook, the Sales Manager. Must have been taken in the very early 1950s. All I was told was that he had a bike shop in LA and had been an Olympic Cyclist. He looks early 50s in the pic, so does anyone have anthing on his early career? Google seems to have let me down on this one. He looks a big and powerful man, over 6ft.

Dear Listees,

Hans Ohrt was mentioned as having various movie stars as clientele.

I remember being told that famous Six-day rider Al Letourneur (aka : the Red Devil, #13) worked as a "personal trainer" for a number of Hollywood stars in their efforts to stay trim. Anyone else have anything to add about Al ? Or does anyone know of other cyclists that have worked with the "stars". And remember- the great Robin Williams is off topic.

Not into cinema - I like movies,
