Dear John, Billie Dovey has often been described as Britains Keep fit girl of the 1930's. She set many distance records on her Rudge Whitworth. She was married to George Fleming and as far as I know she is still very much alive. If you can get hold of a set of the 1939 Players "Cycling" cigarette cards set she is featured on one of the cards but nameless. F.Uren held the the London to Liverpool amateur bicycle, London to Bath Tandem and 12H Tandem with Miss Nicholes according to my old records circa 1953. By coincidence there is an exhibition on at our National cycling Museum with a display on Billie Dovey haven't had a chance to veiw it yet. Check this out on ebay: http://ebay.com/<blah>
