The Metropolitan Machinists' Company was a cycle manufacturer and genertal engineering firm, which produced bicycles under contract during the 1920's and 30's for Gamages, the Army and Navy Stores, Selfridges, East London Rubber Company, Hobdays, Allders of Croydon and John Barker. The MMC was bought by HMV Gramophone Company (which later became EMI) in 1936. The source of this information is "A J Hodge and his Cycles" by Chris Hewitt.
It seems highly likely, therefore, that Benetfink were manufactured by MMC for Gamages under contract.
