A search of the CR archives for William Sampson provides three hits, one
of which is Lou's response to this recent query. Another from earlier
this year is quoted here...

What I found interesting about this is no one on this list chimed in with "I remember that" and I cannot find any reference to Sampson in the "Custom Bicycle" Considering the huge amount of experience on here, I would have thought someone might have recalled the incident referenced.
