Helping my father clean out his garage, and thought I'd offer a bike here before listing it on ebay.
It's an '83 Trek 560, which I bought new and rode for about 18 months before upgrading and selling it to my dad, who'd only had touring bikes at that point. Size is what Trek called a 24", it's about a 59cm c-t, road racing geometry, no eyelets. Reynolds 501 tubing, with traditional lugs and seatstay caps, not the later Trek "plug in" lugs. The frame is in excellent shape, and had a full repaint in a nice emerald green Imron in the late '80s; the painter mistakenly put 531 decals on it, which I never bothered to remove. No other decals on it. Still shiny and mostly clean, no rust, no dents. Components are a mishmash of upgraded stuff, done over the years. Currently, it's wearing a Campy Victory crank and BB, Shimano Sante' (7spd SIS) clamp-on DT shifters and rear derailleur, 1st generation Suntour Superbe front, Stronglight Delta HS, Mavic MA40s on Suntour Cyclone cartridge bearing hubs, hand built with DT stainless spokes, Modolo Speedy calipers and Orion (like Kronos, only light grey, with Galli KL aero hoods scammed from my spares) levers, 12cm 1A old oval logo stem and new label 65-40s. No post or saddle.
Bike and components still have a lot of life in them. Wheels are straight and true, but the anodizing has worn off the sidewalls. It's been hanging in the garage since about 2000, when Dad followed my lead and got a new custom Strong. Other than a couple of winters spent on the rollers, it's had little use in the last several years. I could part it out, but I'd rather not. I'll have pictures available by tomorrow evening. I'm thinking around $450 shipped CONUS; don't know if this is realistic or not. Ride is sweet, better than any wonder metal out there, but you all already know that.
