Ray, Yes it gets very confusing as we have R.T.T.C and W.R.R.A. records. My records are not that easy to hand. Miss Wilson was adwarded the F.T.Bidlake Memorial in 1939 for her Bicycle Records, Land's End to John O'Groats in 2 days 22 hrs. 52 mins. and 1,000 Miles in 3 days 11 hrs. 44 mins. accomplished in one ride, August 29th - September 2nd, 1939. Her 1000 mile time is 14 minutes quicker than the great Jack Rossiters time in 1930. We really need someone like Hilary with a good library to answer this one. All I can add is that in October 4th 1953 these records still stood to Marguerite 25m Professional 1h 16m 6s. 50m. Professional 1h 56m 33s. 100m Professional 4h 31m 8s ( Eileen Sheridan's amateur 100 was 4h 31m 8s then). 1000m Professional plus the End to End times as above. We should really mention Edith Atkins in all this. A great cyclists and record holder and one who did so much for womens cycling.
