I'm trying to find a bike for my neighbor, who is just getting back into cycling. He wants a bike to ride, not collect. Cosmetics are not an issue but he has a few "must haves". The bike has to have Campy Hi-Flange hubs (Record or Tipo), Campy Cranks, and Brake calipers (Record). Campy headset and BB would be a plus. Looking for racing geometry with double-butted tubes and forged dropouts, Italian, UK or US (No French bikes). About 60cm or so. Just need something with a straight, rust-free, frame that's useable. Paint and decals do not matter. Parts do not have to be great cosmetically, but should be serviceable. In other words, a bike I can strip, scrub clean, and re-assemble with what's there and end up with a nice rider. He has a budget of about $500. I've been watching ebay for him for weeks now without any luck (I was out of town for that DeRosa last week, which would have been perfect!!!!!!!).
