Art, Yea, well Da Mets still ain't no replacement for da Dodgers! Kissena's new season opened on Sat. past. The bump at 50 meters is still there, just not as bad. And now there's a depression at 100 meter's; just between turn's 3 and 4, between the pole and the sprinter's line. The wise go below the pole there. Still some old steel at the track, mostly w/ the messenger crowd that is giving new blood to the local sceen. Just found some old photos of me on the track riding a RIH Sport around 1977 when the bump was bigger but The Depression only existed in the 30's. Red, white, and blue with stars; we'd all have to be National champions! I'll buy one you get um made up.

Dearest Listees,

The Official BVVW jersey idea is becoming a reality! I think that this is one beautiful, classy jersey! Just to keep all a youse informed: I have collected for 25 jerseys so far. However, we need 50 to place the order. So, I NEED you folks to contact me ASAP! The sooner the better. I will be collecting money at The Cirque, but PLEASE don't wait; there's SO much to do that weekend. And what better to ride at L'Eroica?

After months of planning, discussing and fine tuning the idea with Alex Clark in Zug, Switzerland, we will be producing the BVVW jersey; "THE" Brooklyn Velodrome Vintage Wheelmen / G.S.Pergolizzi OFFICIAL jersey!

The BVVW jersey is gold with a wide white stripe across the chest and back, flanked by a thin black stripe above and another below the white with gold/black ribbing at the collar and sleeve ends and is made of 100% Merino wool with three buttoned pockets in the rear. The BVVW jersey will be available in both long and short sleeve versions and WITH and WITHOUT embroidery. So...... their are four possible combinations. Please take a look at a computerized rendition:

Then go to

http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/BVVW-Meetings/BVVW_jersey

for the Player's card that gave me the idea.

The embroidered version will have "BVVW" on the top of the sleeves (curved like the "Brooklyn" Woolistic jersey) with "G.S.Pergolizzi" on the left breast Area; which stands for "Gruppo Sportivo". All of the embroidery will be in black chain stitch wool (like the San Pellegrino jersey). Or get the plain version with NO embroidery.

Our jerseys will be manufactured by Alex Clark's company "Woolistic" in Italy and will be sized the same as their other fine jerseys, so please refer to http://www.vintagevelos.com for sizing information. The quality of the Woolistic products is unsurpassed in the world of cycling today and will be a fine addition to your jersey collection.

Prices will be commensurate with the other jerseys in the Woolistic Line; short sleeve are $132.00 each and long sleeve are $143.00 each. Please refer to the Vintagevelos site for shipping specifics (add $8.00 priority shipping in the continental U.S. to your order for the first item, $2.00 extra for each additional item).

Payment by personal or bank check or money order is to be sent to me at:

John T.Pergolizzi 9101 Shore Road, #622 Brooklyn, New York 11209

PLEASE INCLUDE:

-Full return address

-Size required

-Full payment including shipping charge

-Embroidered or No embroidery

Now you have more time to get your money in since we haven't made the minimum yet. After all the money has been collected, the order to Woolistic in Switzerland will be placed. That will happen immediately after the Cirque. Then expect approximately a two to three month wait for the jerseys to be made. Remember , these are custom. Total wait time for the first of youse who pay up is therefore about four months. The wait could be less, but it could take that long, so patience is paramount.

!

As a further enticement, BVVW member Bill Vojtech and I are working on a BVVW full color embroidered patch. This can be applied on to the jersey below the "G.S.Pergolizzi" on the embroidered versions or wherever on the plain ones, or wherever else youse might like to stitch um. Availability and cost will be announced AFTER the jersey project is completed.

I have a display at The Cirque and will be collecting straggler money there.

And REMEMBER: **********25% of the profits of The BVVW jersey sale will go to this years Cirque Auction charity Operation Smile. The exact amount will be announced after the jerseys are all delivered.**************

Now you've saved your penny's, told your Honey what you wanted for your birthday, Christmas is coming, so give yourself a treat; do whatever it takes to get one of these beauties cause life is short and this is not a dress rehearsal!

ciao,

John T.Pergolizzi

And yes, my jersey will say "Omnipotent Despot" on it.
