Hey folks -
I was just given (in return for a burrito, seriously) an old Witcomb frame. As near as I can tell, it's a made in England Witcomb, and pretty old. Very large, I'd say a 64cm or so, and very battered... a big dent in the top tube, and I think slight deforming just behind the head tube in the top and down tubes. Not sure just what I'll do with it... maybe it becomes a fixed beater, maybe I will try getting it fixed up one day, or try doing it myself once I've done the UBI frame course. Or not.
Anyway, I'd like to know more about the age and model and such. Anyone know how to determine such things? Serial number is 1018873. It's light blue over solid chrome, with full wraparound seat stays and sloping fork crown. A lot of the paint is gone, but the chrome seems intact, if a bit rough in spots.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Tim
