I thought I would share a few of the sources I have consistently found to be very useful for historical race information and statistics. This is by no means comprehensive in nature. However, if anyone has any books or sources they have found to be particularly useful, please feel free to post directly to the CR list.

General Rider Statistics / Palmares Title: Encyclopedie UCI Volumes 1-3 (stats through about 2001) Authors: Sergent, Casset & Dauchy Publisher: Eecloonaar, Belgium comment: Most comprehensive source of professional rider information I have found either in book form or on the net.
General Race Statistics Title: Velo Published Annually since 1956 Authors: DenBremt & DeKeyser Publisher: Various comment: Great source for detailed race stats from races all over the world. I've been using this Velo for many years and have yet to completely understand the organization of information year to year.
Six Day Racing Title: de Mannen von de Nacht Author: Roger De Maertelaere Publisher: Eecloonaar, Belgium comment: Good source for race results of six-days, arranged by year, from the beginning to 2000. Also features palmares of significant riders and all sorts of different baseball-esque type of stats.
Tour de France Title: Tour de France de A a Z Author: Reina van der Wal & Rob Groen Publisher: Sport & Free Time Intl, Netherlands comment: Unlike the official TdF website, this book is not riddled with mistakes. An updated version of the original 1990 edition was recently released. Provides complete results for every TdF and alphabetically cross references to every rider that has participated in the TdF.
Giro d'Italia Title: Giro d'Italia Author: Sandro Picchi Publisher: Ponte Alle Grazie, Italy comment: This book is out of print. Published in 1991, it has very good information in an easy to follow format.
Index of Nearly Every French Racing Periodical Ever Published Title: les revues cyclistes Authors: Seray & Deon Publisher: Musee d'Art et d'Industrie de Saint-Etienne comment: currently out of print. An incredible source. Ever wonder when a particular magazine started or if you have a complete run? This book has the answers.
