Hugh was asking about old style cleats that fastened to more contemporary shoes. I was on a ride the other day with Bill Ron, of Bill Rons Cycles, who should be familiar to Los Angeles area list members, and asked where he found shoes/cleats for the Super Record pedals on his otherwise thoroughly off topic bike. He said they were older shoes, but they had a Look style bolt pattern, and he had found some now discontinued bolt-on cleats for them. He said he is in the process of reproducing these cleats for sale, and all that he will need then is a source of less garish colored Look compatible shoes that don't have bulky straps. His intended market is track riders at the local velodrome, but I think there may be a market among the listmembers, as the Detto's and T.A. cleats are getting harder to find.
Davis Jensen Just back from a somber 40 miles around the Palos Verdes Peninsula. One of my usual Thursday and Saturday riding partners passed away suddenly Monday from a pulmonary embolism at his 50th High School reunion. He had 20 years on me, and could beat me to the summit of the ride most days. Lomita, CA
