My friend took another approach as well. Working for AT&T Labs at the time (1972ish) he was able to obtain titanium. He went about recreating all the Campy nuts and bolts in titanium. Believe me, they are perfectly identical in appearance to the originals. Beautiful workmanship. He is fond of tellin g me, "It's the cumulative result that makes a difference." The parts are on a Cinelli SC (one that has a drilled BB as made by Cinelli) and is set-up as a TT bike with a single chainring. One of these days I'll get my act together and post some photos.
