Dear Ray, I spent three months driving and cycling around the United States. Started in late May and came home in August. I had no trouble whatsoever finding accommodation without pre-booking. Spoilt for choice. Everywhere I stayed was spotlessly clean and this applied to everything across the price range. Most of it very reasonably priced, at least half of what you pay here for the equivilant room. Much easier than Britain or Europe for overnight stops. Just imagine you are back touring in Britain during the halcyon days, post-war until the 70's and its as easy as that getting good accommodation. I had no trouble putting my bike in the room not like here in the UK. Don't worry just go. Kind regards Frank.
