I have a bike from the early 70's that has steel ambrosia pedals on it. they are small, race style pedals with very smooth bearings.
I am having the hardest time getting my cycling shoes (plastic sole and cleats) into the clips. there is just no grip on them, and if I do manage to get a hit on them to spin, it is too fast to get my foot in after the hit. I have never had a pedal/she combo that has been so bad.
This pedal does not have the small spike that others sometimes have. What is the best cure for this, and does anyone else have this problem with one bike rather than the other? On this bike, I just find it best to reach down and hold it in place while I get my foot in. Not good in a group ride (big troubles on the ride of silence here in Seattle, as we stopped at almost every light in hilly down town), but fine on my own.
Thanks in advance, Dan Kasha Seattle Wa
