Stronglight in the 1974 Raleigh I have has two grooves and is English threading. If one example explains the Universe, then it's decided.Works for me.

iirc, Stronglight BB fixed cups of that era had a code to indicate threading, by the number of grooves or rings lathe-turned in the face of the cup. I wanna say two concentric rings = English, anyone know? I just checked my stash, found a French fixed cup with one deep groove, but didn't find any English fixed cups to verify or debunk my theory. A brief search of the archives didn't find the answer either.
