I recently acquired a Raleigh (according to pal, Larry O from West Virginia, it appears to be either a seventies or maybe eighties) track bike that came with a NR Campagnolo pista bottom bracket. The spindle has engraved 110 on it, which corresponds to its length. I assume that this is the original bottom bracket, but when I attempt to put a Campagnolo track crankset on it, there is not enough room for the crank to clear the bottom bracket lug. It butts up against the fixed cup and that is without even tightening the bolts. (I bought the Raleigh only as a frame with bottom bracket and headset).
Did track bottom bracket spindles come in various lengths like the other Campagnolo spindles do? And is there a difference between a track spindle and a regular spindle?
Thank you.
Cheers.
