Now with the correct header! My apologies.

No, just the crown and BB schell are from George Fischer. I bet there's
a little plus sign next to the GF, like GF+ (unless it's sanded off).
That's a Swiss thing, like their army, which uses knives apparently...

No way any of the rough sand casting remains, not on any Masi I've seen. I have an untouched example of the BB shell, and lemmetellya, the work they did to make them look nice is fairly amazing. Every square millimeter is filed down quite a bit. So unfortunately that means the roughness you see really is rust.

This image shows the underside of one of the first batch frames, not great at showing the lack of filing but do notice the +GF+ is completely visible as well as a casting foible adjacent. Also note that the downtube socket window has not been filed as many others are.
My long ago stolen A57 1S9, was worse, took it to Carlsbad in 1975 for a repaint, Mario refiled the entire shell, no GF visible after, I am pretty sure the cable guides were removed to accomplish this. I did not ask for this work but they pointed it out upon picking up the frame.
At the time they mentioned that the initial batch were a scramble to get "out the door".
Wish I still had mine.
