Are you sure it was gold? Didn't Raleigh sell a frame that was brass plated with a clear coat or chrome with a transparent yellow? I remember going on a ride with a guy that had one. If memory serves, it came equipped with mid level campy parts and Weinmann brakes. It would have been 80 or 81.
