Lambert sold a limited number of genuine 24k gold-plated frames/bikes...there is one at a LBS. Also, MIJ Raleigh/Rampar Superbes had chrome-plated framesets that had a translucent paint that mimics gold-plate to the unwary. It would be interesting to compile a list of such bikes but most were probably slated for bike shows rather than an optional finish (Lambert perhaps the lone exception as I think they had a limited run of 250 or 500).
