I am quite surprised that this Raleigh RRA sold for $256. The last one to show up on ebay was a 'time capsule' bike that sold for about $1070 I think. This bike is all-original, although the drivetrain was dirtier. There were only 200 of these bikes ever made. The Simplex SLJ 5500 gear system, cranks, and GB bars/3TTT stem were worth $220+ by themselves.
This is probably the only Carlton bike not to say "Carlton" on the middle of the seat tube. And, it was created to pressure campagnolo to supply more parts to Raleigh, and so it has more of a history and purpose than most other Raleigh-Carlton bikes.
I guess this means that either (a) Nobody has ever heard of this bike (probably true), and (b) It doesn't matter if there were only 200 ever made - if Raleigh Makes It, Nobody Wants It !!
