Rita,
The color is technically a "candy apple" finish. The base color is
silver metallic. The topcoat is translucent "yellow-green" toner.
Some mixing systems use the yellow green as one of the mixing bases
to make colors that appear on paint charts. To make the color
from "fast green toner" add some yellow and some clear; that may work
also.
I wouldn't use the pump as a color match generally speaking, because
pumps are more often than not quite different than the actual paint
on the bike, and probably in this case isn't even a true candy color.
Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Used to paint Legnanos. Odd color, but I like it.
I know some list members have been (or are currently) restoring Legnano frames in the classic 'chartreuse' green color. My question is: how do you get the color right? Is there a known Legnano-green color standard? Or is it a matter of craftmanship, mixing your own color until looks right? I am about to have my Legnano Roma Olimpiade repainted. I have a NOS Legnano-green Silca pump (always stored in paper bag) which I would use as a model for the frame color. Is this a good idea? Thanks for your input.
