Guys, most of you seem to think that people 'up' their own bids... That's not what is happening here - or in most cases...

Consider an item is at $55, and I want to bid a maximum of $125, so I enter $125, and the bid goes up in increments of $5, so I now hold the bid at $60. If someone comes along and bids $75, they will 'push' my bid to $80. Then someone else comes along and bids $90, and my bid goes to $95. See how it works? And this will make it appear as though I upped my own bid, twice! Because the other bidders didn't top my maximum, they didn't even appear in the bidders list. That is what you are seeing with the repeat bidders in the Paramount auction.
