Can anyone help me date and identify this bike. I have had it since I was about 14 in 1973 and it was pretty old then. I have taken some photos of what I think are probably the most identifiable features. The brakes are original from when i received the bike and are GB Sport Mk3. It also used to have GB levers but I replaced these in the '70s. Other features I have not seen on any other bike - including as I recall, my friends bikes at the time are the way the seat stays are made from a tapered tube that wraps round the seat post. Also the oiling nipple on the bottom bracket harks back to an earlier era.
The photos are here: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/
All help appreciated - My wife tells me that I should send the bike to the local tip. I am hoping for some information that I can use to justify keeping and possibly even restoring her to her former glory (the bike, that is:-)
Thanks,
