Excellent contribution to the list. I am impressed by the relative age of the riders, compared to the youthfulness of today's riders. Whether it is a product of the post-war era (many of the young men were killed or disabled) or the working-class status of bike racing then, as opposed to the celebrity status that sports figures have currently, the young faces are the exception in 1950. Any idea what the relative salaries for a team leader and domestique were 50 years ago, compared to today?
