Jerry,
I have photos of my Super Tourer, which I restored to it's stock configuration before I sold it. If you want a photo or two of the shifters, let me know.
And yes, it came stock with stem shifters. I would hit my knees on them every time I pedaled out of the saddle, so I converted the shifters to down tube shifters.

For some reason, I'm unable to load from RetroRaleighs the one Raleigh catalog I need - 1974. I'm trying to determine the original shift levers on my 1974 Super Tourer. Mine came with the original Huret Jubillee RD. I've obtained Jubilee FD and shifters, but I'm not so sure the Jubilee DT shifters would have been original. The Super Tourer came with upright bars and a sprung saddle. There is no Super Tourer in the 1973 catalog, and no 1975 catalog on RetroRaleighs. The 1976 catalog shows the Super Tourer with Jubilee RD and FD, but stem mounted Huret (non-Jubilee) shift levers, not that surprising, considering the sprung saddle and upright bars. Can anyone else open the 1974 catalog, or otherwise tell me the shift levers on the 1974 Super Tourer?
I'm staying with drop bars and unsprung saddle like the bike has now. If the Jubilee DT shifters were original, I'll probably install them, but if not, I'll keep the current ratcheted SunTour barends and save the Jubilee DT shifters for some other project.
