For those who don't know the "Town and Country" that Bob Freitas
referred to, there is a bunch in the archives. As a summary, it was the
best tandem Schwinn offered in the early 50s. I've owned at least 4,
plus one in the triplet variation, but down to none, now. They were made
of proper 4130 chrome-moly steel, with a curved rear seat tube, and very
tight (61" or so) wheelbase. The headset was oversized, and I don't know
of a source. There were fair numbers of them, and they still turn up
occasionally at swap meets and garage sales, worth keeping the eye out
for. Down-equipped (coaster brake) tandems and triplets became boardwalk
rentals in NJ. It is possible to do lots of modifications to these; I
even converted some to vertical drops to clear 700c wheels, added
Shimano E disk brakes, etc. Modern style is for much longer wheelbases,
but these can still be a hoot. harvey sachs mcLean va At 6:35 PM -0700

Sure it's not 650B? I know Schwinn did use these on some tandems. They _are_ "26 inch" but "26 inch" is _not_ a tire/wheel size. It refers to one of at least 5 _different_ sizes.
