Hi All, The posts the other day re. striping reminded me that I had read in "The Story of the Raleigh Cycle", by Gregory Houston Bowden, published 1975, that it took a little less than 2 minutes to stripe or as they said "line" a frame. There is a picture of a gentleman performing this task using a wheel (Cyclo made these at one time, and of course Beugler in the US still does, and calls them pinstripers) Obviously not double box lining, but still pretty quick, particularly when you consider he would have had to limit his tea intake to prevent the shakes. Same book has a Chapter titled "Raleigh and the American Bicyclist" which includes quite a bit on Peter Rich. All the best, Phil Easton
