Subject: [CR]Michael Celmins info for repair

Is Michael Celmins still in business, alive or whatever? I just received a frameset today that took some abuse from a former neglectful owner. Aparently a privious owner had a seat tube stuck in the frame and tried to get it out with a reciprocating saw. Not a bad start but he/she did not section the seat tube thouroughly and then it was hammered down to bind against the water bottle braze-on inserts. Now that is bad enough but the former heavy-handed workmanship must have left an embarrasing signature as there is a blob of painted bondo under the seat tube lug and I have yet to apply paint stripper to examine the extent of damage. Am I in too deep or is the frame worth restoring? It may need amputation of a seat tube. Are these worth a damn, or just another US framebuilder's flash in the pan. Bruce
