As I am not a frequent contributor, I apologize in advance to those whom I respect on this list for the following rant.
Due to the fact I work, and ride my bicycle(s) I don't spend too much time on the computer. I have been attempting to catch up on my C.R. reading and was amazed to read Ted Baer and his supporters' comments.
What is wrong with you guys?? What in the world is all this talk about wacked out cyclists? You call that opinion?? In my OPINION this intolerant, negative, and inflammatory discussion has no place on this list. Nor anywhere else. Ted, you are probably pissed off because those beautiful athletic cyclist women snubbed your patronizing advances.
What is the purpose for putting down other cyclists? Who cares what they are wearing or riding? If you want to chaffe your little cajones with those levi cutoffs, go right ahead. THEY ARE RIDING BICYCLES!!. We need all the cyclists on the road we can get. I suggest you channel that negativity into bicycle advocacy, or lead some disadvantaged kids on a bike ride, or take a blind person out on a tandem ride, or.....the list goes on.
I believe you knew exactly what you were doing with your comments. Chocolate my eye. As if that is an excuse to escape the responsibility of your comments. Every so often an uproar erupts and it's usually the same people or persons. I'm surprised that Dale let you back on the list.
I'm going to stop now. If anyone wants to flame me, fine, go ahead, but keep it off list. I doubt anyone wants to read about it. I sure wouldn't.
The only on topic tidbit I can offer up is the all original completely stock Nishiki Cresta I was lucky to have fall into my lap. It cleaned up into a beautiful bicycle. Lugged steel touring bicycle dating from I'm guessing 1983.
