Subject: [CR]thread pitch? modern VS classic pedal threading

esteemed list- i am about to do the unthinkable; putting clipless pedals on a classic bike (something a good friend said that i should've done years ago, and that if he weren't so stubborn he would do the same). my commute bike currently is a fixed gear (47x17 in case you are wondering) mid 60s motobecane. currently i have a TA 5 pin on it. i ordered a set of standard, english threaded clipless pedals, and they don't fit! i know for a fact that the TA is english threaded, as i took the phillips pedals off a 1950s holdsworth and tried them in the crank and they fit perfectly. also, i tried the phillips pedals in a modern sugino crank, and they fit fine in there as well (as did the clipless pedals)

was there some sort of standard change that i missed? or is it just TA being funky? fwiw, the pedals are BEBOPS.

thanks
