I'm sorry Ted, but I bought them from Hebden Cord, who went out of business on 31 October, 2005, and I don't know another supplier. I spoke to the owner just before they closed down for good, and the reason she gave was that she was ready to retire, and had had no success in finding someone with the requisite tailoring skills to take over the business. This is such a shame, because they had supplied cyclists for at least 75 years; I have a 1930 CTC handbook with their advert for "Cyclists' breeches or knickers to measure." Prices started at 10/6, GBP0.50 in modern money, but what that equates to today, I have no idea.
At the time I took the opportunity to have a further pair made, in the hope that my two pairs will last for the next twenty years or so. I only wish I could have afforded more!
If I find another source, I'll post it on the CR list.
The other option might be for you to have a pair tailor made, if there's a source of cotton whipcord cloth available to you. I can provide photos on a photohosting site if you want to see the style.
