Dear listers,
Sometimes travelling into Belgium can be interesting for a Dutchman. And I
don't mean the beer. I've come across a bike that is presented as a Colnago
Super, it has the right decals, and is from 73 or 74 (the rear derailleur, a
Campy, has the patent 73 designation). What strikes me is that it doesn't
have any Colnago pantograhing anywhere, and doesn't seem to have the right
lug cutouts. But I don't really know anything about Colnago's. Also the
green-metallic colour doesn't strike me as typical Colnago or Italian. The
frame does seem to be quite well built, and especially the cut-outs in the
front of the headlugs are very special.
Can anyone shed any light on this one? Here is the link to my wooljersey
album: http://www.wooljersey.com/
Oh, the bike is reported to have belonged to Alan Peiper. 1974? I wonder; Peiper was born in 1960, and came to live in Belgium at the age of 17 or 18.
