1977 Tom Kellogg road racing bicycle
This is Tom\u2019s 16th frame built on his own, made custom for Dave Demu zio, who was a junior racer in Redding, PA. From Tom\u2019s very early days, long before the existence of Spectrum.
Actual measurements are: 59cm seat tube & 60.5cm top tube (both taken c-c).
Serial numbers stamped under the bottom bracket shell are: 77 * 16 * 25 * 30 .
Other notes from a 2006 conversation with the builder: Full 531 Tubing. Sand cast full sloping fork crown. 72.5 deg. seat tube angle, 73 deg. head tube angle. 2-5/8\u201d b.b. drop. 23.5\u201d to p tube.
Originally painted a deep orange, and repainted in about the early mid 1990s . Never ridden since repaint \u2026 it remained a wall-hanger! Paint chip on side of d/t from brake swing has been lightly touched up, plus one or two other very small paint blemishes. No dents, dings, bends, cracks, rust, corrosion , etc. Most parts are very fine to mint, with some being NOS, were all instal led after the repaint. Wheels however, have a bit more mileage than the rest.
Long point thinned lugs, VERTICAL dropouts (do NOT have Campagnolo markings visible), d/t shifter bosses, top of b.b. cable guides, top tube brake cable
guides, d/t water bottle bosses, integrated seat binder and proprietary bind er screw, English threading, recessed OR nutted brake mounting.
Components are mostly Shimano DURA-ACE EX, as follows: Dura Ace cranks, 52/39 tooth with lightly drilled big ring; DA clamp-on front der.; (DA) Crane GS long cage rear der.; DA fluted 27.2mm seatpost.; DA side pull brakes with original DuraAce pads, shoes, and adjusters; Shimano 600 6 speed sealed mech freewheel with 13-26 teeth; Shimano HG? chain
PHIL WOOD 36 hole sealed bearing hubs built with Wheelsmith spokes onto Mavi c MA40 27x1x1/4 630 hard dark anodized CLINCHER rims. Performance GT/K 27\u201d clincher (105psi, Japan) gumwall tires with ZER O MILES *NOTE: Brake shoes are mounted in the highest position possible, therefore wheels with smaller 700c rims should still be usable with these brakes.

Suntour \u201cBar-Con\u201d bar end shifters Nitto Technomic black anodized stem 95mm Nitto touring bend bars 45cm wide at brakes, and 52cm at ends, (both taken c-c)
