A couple of my web pages might help. Go to http://www.nonlintec.com/bikepages/ and look at the Carlton and Allegro projects. I have used spray-can painting with good success. I wouldn't do it on a very high-end restoration, but if you're careful and work within its limitations, you can do a good job. The worst problem is that the finish is far more fragile than an Imron or epoxy-based paint.
