Norman was one of the "regional" builders up in the NE corner of the UK...not too far from Newcastle..but on the south side of the River Tyne. I think that he had a couple of shops, the main one being in the small coastal town of South Shields.
His shop was very much a "clubman's" shop catering for the keen cyclists of all types in the local area. His frames were seldom sold outside the area, but were well respected by the local "cognoscenti"
I recall him being active in the 60s, through the 70s..and possibly into the early 80s. it's just possible that the shop is still running but I think Norman retired some years ago. Larger shops took over in the area, with more aggressive sales models.
This frame on Ebay looks very purposeful , with its slightly more curvaceous lugs..a variation on the ubiquitous long-point Prugnats, matched up to a Milremo crown that has been altered to remove the 50s-style point and window. This crown was available in both "flatter" traditional English oval, and the later "fatter" continental blades.
Although the frame has moved with the times. the builder, like so many in the UK, has hung on to his "trade mark" style of seat-stay top-eyes..the popular 50s wrap-over.
Norman did not have a prolific out-put. It could be a long time before another one comes along
