Subject: [CR]Was: Visentini's Time Trial Benotto - Now: Aero modified NR/SR brake levers

Tom,

I have two sets of NR levers mounted on a couple of my bikes, which have been aero-modified in two different ways.

You can see the levers that came on my Cinelli Laser here:

You can see the levers that I put on my Masi here:

I prefer the modification method used for the Laser levers much better. The levers are actually very smooth and efficient, even with the Laser's routing, which has some very tight bends.

The levers on the Masi I bought from Dave Marsh at Universal Cycles in the UK - eBay ID is carltoncycles. I bought two sets but sold the second one on eBay. They work well, but the Laser levers work much better. Dave Marsh may have more or these levers, but if you have a machinist buddy who can recreate the parts used in the Laser levers, I suggest you go that way. To my untrained eye, it doesn't look like it should be too hard for a machinist to do it. And I'm sure you can recoup costs by selling them as a kit - I'll take a set in fact :)

I'm working on a top-secret project that almost falls within the CR timeframe (actually, it's 1984) and a set of aero-routed SR levers would be the perfect finishing touch. If anyone has a set that they could photograph for me, or loan to me for examination, so that I could work with my machininst friend on making a set, I'd be very grateful.
