Hello,
Yes, I would love to have an Eroica in the Napa Valley, CA or the Texas wine country. It's all about who wants to take the plunge and volunteer their valuable time to coordinate such an event. Thank goodness we have great folks like Chuck [Velo Rendezvous] and Dale [Cirque] to make things like this happen.
I would be more than happy to go in on a joint venture with other Nor Cal folks for an Eroica in the Napa Wine Country. Perhaps we could get a consortium together to start the long process of sussing out sponsorship, ride routes, etc, to closely approximate the Tuscan experience. Heck, we have the wine, we just need the time!
Regards,
Marc St. Martin coordinator of the Livermore Harvest Ride, October 14, 2006. (post me for info) Livermore, CA...currently in cold, rainy Chicago

>How about L'Eroica in the Texas Wine Country --Sisterdale Vineyard to Lueckenbach to Becker Vineyards to Fredericksburg to Bell Mtn. Vineyard to Llano (Fall Creek Vineyard) and Enchanted Rock State Park to Inks Lake State Park to Spicwood Vineyard. It's a central location so Dallas, Austin,Houston, San Antonio could attend. Lots of Hotel-motel -B&B accomodations in Fredericksburg. It could be one day or more. Cool Fall weather is comming! Think about it. Art Link, San Antonio,TX USA

The fire roads in the surrounding hills are fun on a mtn bike, but may be a bit much for the old road bikes, even if its supposed to be a sufferfest. We should contact the L'Eroica organizers and show support for an event in NoCal.
